    camera and short cost

The VX2100 is fine to shoot. It really doesn't matter what camera or equipment you have, it's how you use it.

    Actor Scheduling Help

I guess you can consider this question as directing, I just want some other input on my current quagmire, maybe I'm overreacting, maybe I'm right or you'll have a far greater idea. Anyway here's my question. I'm making a 16mm short that really has only two actors, no dialogue and they appear in...

    Lighting A Church

Ya the digital/video test is a good idea. My plan is just to use 500T with an 85 filter at 320 and if it's a little more warm I think that's goes more with the scene than the blue making it look cold.

    cinema studies v. film production

From my own personal experience, one should learn the history of film as you can learn a lot, from their mistakes or what makes movies good. My school, Emerson, required all VMA students to take two semesters of History of Media Arts. The only problem is almost everyone else in these classes...

    Lighting A Church

Ya the 250D Kodak would be just as good. Maybe this will help better explain how bad mixed lighting could look maybe not on a scale but basically if It's just going to look a little or a lot more blue I don't think I care that much as maybe it would add to the scene or the colorist comes up with...

    Lighting A Church

How bad would it actually look if I did shoot without CTO the windows with the windows? Maybe I should just get Fujis 250D or 500D.

    Lighting A Church

Any tips lighting a small church that has 6 large windows: four colored red and blue, the other two are clear. We'll be shooting during the day using Vision2 200T and wondering if I should CTB our lights or just leave it to see how it turns out. I'm just worried that if I CTB the lights and slap...

Creating a Professional Film with a single CCD MiniDV Cam?

Or this is a trick question as you said traditional film and if you want to be a stickler, this would be a professional video or you mean a feature length movie using only a one chip camera. It wouldn't be a big deal if you use the right lighting and post production you can get really great images.

    Smoke for Defined Beams

Now I know to get defined beams of light to use a smoke or fog machine but is there any other way? I've been experimenting with flour and powder but the look just isn't the same. Any ideas?

Working on my first short screenplay

So far this would be a man talking to himself. See where you can cut dialogue and show us instead of having him talk the whole thing through. Keep going with the plane I would say or the idea of his character not being flexible and try to do something new. also where he is going? whats he doing?

    Night scene lighting

Ya, there's usually huge soft cubes big movie productions used. There's also I believe the wexler moon, or some term like that which is basically a ton of lights inside a cube shaped diffusion that can light up a large area at once.
