Problem with final cut

When i move some media into the viewer, the canvas, timeline and toolbox closes. Can anyone explain to me what has gone wrong?

I think that if it were I, first make sure that Window>arrange>standard is
selected. If that doesn't keep the problem from returning, save your work, exit Final Cut and delete Final Cut's preferences. Google how to do that.

This is not a known FCP bug of any sort. Exactly what type of media are you opening up in the Viewer (you don't move anything, actually), how are you opening it, and what version of FCP?

control+U will bring you back to the "factory default" window layout.

This is not a trashing prefs problem, I'm betting it's a workflow issue.
