I have what may be an odd question. I'm going to be editing 9 miniDV tapes worth of digital video in Final Cut Pro, but after purchasing my Mac I do not have any money left to buy a miniDV deck to capture with. Is there any reason I wouldn't be able to take the footage (shot on a 3 ccd prosumer Sony which does not belong to me) and capture it via firewire using a cheap 1ccd digital camcorder?? Is there something I'm unaware of as far as losing image quality if I did this? At this point I've drained my budget and I was thinking maybe I would just buy a digital camcorder with burned-out pixels off of ebay or something, just to use for capturing... Thanks in advance for any advice!! My capturing equipment budget is at about $200...
