new to Final Cut Express HD

Hi there

Looking for savvy people to save my butt!

Got some good shots of an international development project in Nicaragua, filmed with my Sony HDV... but can't for some reason, dump all that into FCEH.

The programs keeps telling me about 'dropped frames' and will not digitalize more than a few minutes.

--) what I am doing wrong?!?
