SACRAMENTO FILM AND MUSIC FESTIVAL - EXCLUSIVE "STUDENT DAYS" PROGRAM!
In 2006, the Sacramento Film and Music Festival added two afternoons of programming exclusively for student filmmakers - this was in addition to the broad programming opportunities that already existed for students within the full five-day program of all-genre, all-format, national and international screenings. Last year's exclusive "Student Days" program included 20 films from such schools as AFI, Art Center College of Design, Chapman, Columbia College, NYU, UCF, UCLA, and USC.
We are repeating this formula this year and the call for submissions is still open with student discounts in every category. Regular submissions should be postmarked by June 1st, with an extended deadline of June 8th.
After 8 years, the Sacramento Film and Music Festival remains one of the most affordable festivals for both submissions and attendance and in 2007 will offer such additional opportunities as live music performances, a 10-day filmmaking program, and an evening with Sacramento's own Joe Carnahan, writer and director of Blood, Guts, Bullets and Octane; Narc; and Smokin' Aces. Joe has several projects in pre-production, including James' Ellroy's White Jazz, starring George Clooney.
