i would like to know what is/are the best MiniDisc recorder(s) that i can buy for recording the sound/audio on location for my short film projects?

specific make & model info please.

it has to work with Mac OSX 10.3.5.

price range of sub-$300, for now...i'm working on a very limited budget.

i am new to filmmaking and lots of questions are sure to follow from me on these boards. :)

any and all advice is greatly welcomed.

thanks to all.

Hard to give you a specific make or model as there are so many on the market and they are updating constantly. What I can tell you is what it needs to have. Your minidisc needs to have a line input and a mic input. Sometimes these are the same just have to flip a switch. On older models they are separate plug ins. HHB makes the MDP-500 which is a pro line Minidisc. Unfortunately it doesn't fit your budget requirments. You may want to just rent instead of buy. If it is just the deck you need to rent, there are many rentals companies that would give a very good deal on a DAT machine or a Mini Disc if they have.
