introduction of my short film

The best thing you have running for you on this short film is the cinematography. I quite like the techniques used there. A suggestion would be to tighten up the editing a litte bit. But, other than that I quite liked it. Keep up the good work.

I liked it, but me being an audio guy lol i would have loved to hear the main character's thoughts and some of his footsteps maybe; but that's just me. The quality isn't bad at all and great locations.

I agree with jondisla a bit. I'd get rid of the music all together and let the emptiness of his foot steps and breath carry the film. I think it would be much more effective to NOT hear traffic, people etc. I'd play with sound a lot more, especially the shot where he thinks he hears something. In the begining, maybe a bizzare sound wakes him up...something that might explain the missing people. Nothing big, but just small and weird. Right now, they could all be at a Lakers game. I'd also get shots of all the locations full of people and edit a bit of a montage before his "sleep" so there is some kind of contrast. You might reverse the cutting in the beginging. Start with the close up and edit out. Try, in the editing, to convey his emotional "aloneness". I'd lose the shot of him in the car looking around. It doesn't work; since he is surrounded by walls, there is really nothing for him to look at, unless you do the sound thing of course where he would be confused, making this shot work better. In the first shot where he is walking through the plaza, cut in much later. The hand-held camera with the rail at the bottom of the shot makes it look like he is being watched. Cut in after the rail is out of the shot and extend the tail if you have it. Personally, I think the cutting is too tight. I'd let it breath a bit more to add a bit more emotion into the main character's situation. All the footage seems to be there, but I think you need to think about the audience a bit more when editing.
