importing flash

can you import flash into After Effects ?

I'm running 5.5, and it doesn't support flash. If its a graphic or animation, you would probably have to convert to an acceptable file format. It's interesting, kinda ironic, it will output to a macromedia flash format, but won't import. I'm not sure if version 6 supports it. I'm sure the pro bundle would.

you can import swf files in version 6

how? i have version 6.5 they wont directly import for me

i don't know. i was supposed to learn this software last summer but never did! you need quicktime. in v 6 pro, File > Import > File... Navigate to swf then open. hopefully someone else can answer your question better.

Please describe your situation in more detail.

What software authored the flash file? Can you load it and play it in your browser? Is the file from the internet and if it is, are you sure you have the entire file on your computer and not simply a link to it?

hey sorry about that forgot i posted here, i found out what my problem was... to export as a quicktime i had to set the publish settings as a flash 5 file or lower instead of flash 6 or it wont export, thanks
