Mr. Laszlo,
Thanks in advance for your time and generosity. I've been offered a place at Chapman U. to study graduate cinematography with Bill Dill ASC this fall. I was wondering what your thoughts are on film school? Do you have any experience with Mr. Dill or Chapman? If you were just starting you career today would you go to film school? Any suggestions/advice on how to best prepare myself for school? Thanks again.

All the best,

Dear Jon:

I visited Chapman several times during the past number of years in connection with a seminar series sponsored by Kodak. The film school at Chapman is an outstanding place for filmstudies. Dean Bob Basset has done an outstanding job building the Chapman program, and one of my all time favorite film professors is Mark Parry. He is a very talented cinematographer and a great techer. The program is excellent and an opportunity to work with Bill Dill will make it all worth while. Making a commitment to film studies and a future in film production is enough preparation at this stage.

Best of luck. Please say hello to all.

Dear Mr. Laszlo,
Thank you for your time and response. It warms my heart to hear such great things about Chapman and Professor Dill. I am confident that it is right for me. I truly hope you will again honor Chapman with your presence during the forthcoming academic years. Until then, I enthusiastically look forward to all future correspondence. Thanks again.

All the best,
Jon Amerikaner
