Exporting Tiffs in both HDV and DVNTSC windows

Hey all,

I am having a problem getting quality screen grabs from FCP. I am working off HDV 1080i60 footage. When I export directly from an HDV window using quicktime conversion into a tiff format the picture is exported in stretched 4:3 format. I have attempted bring the shots into a DV- NTSC window and export from there, In that instance I keep the frame size but loose the quality. I realize the problem can be repaired in photoshop, but i am creating mass amounts of these in very tight time frames, and would prefer not to ave to rework these pics.

Neone have any idea's?

If I understand your problem correctly, you need to create a true 1920 X 1080, square pixel timeline from which to export. Open a new sequence, go into the sequence settings and set them for 1920 X 1080, square pixels. Now drag the clip for the still image into the timeline. Render it. Then export to a .TIFF or whatever format you wish. Hope this solves your problem. Good luck. JimT
