camera for basic student projects

any thoughts on what a good camera for basic student projects would be? next semester i will have access to dvx100b's so i dont want to drop allot of change if necessary. the projects we are doing will not be with sound or fancy lighting. basically shot compisition, etc. it needs to be a mini-dv camera.

thx for the reply. after some research i went with the panasonic gs300. it should workd for my projects and then the wife can use it for her home movies ofthe family and such. thx!
