Burn to DVD

Having a problem burning to DVD.
I create a quicktime reference file from the timeline in Avid.
Then, with the Quicktime reference file, I go into Sony DVD architect and burn a DVD with the quicktime reference file. Then, the DVD looks awful. Really dull, the color is all wrong, etc. When I watch the quicktime reference file, however, it looks great, just like it does in the timeline.
Any help? Thanks.

If the Quicktime file is correct then it must be a problem with the DVD software.

One point to consider is that the gamma curve of the TV is very different to a computer monitor: in my experience things that look dark on the monitor look fine on the TV and things that look fine on the monitor may be too bright on the TV. If you're grading on the computer you'll need to check the waveform display.

Maybe you should do a preview out to a TV via your camera to actualy see if its the compression made during your DVD authoring process...
