Hi there, I am new to this... I hope someone helps me with an answer.

1_I am having problems viewing my imported video clips on the source window, it plays the clip in blank black image yet I can hear what's playing and it will only show me the clip if I stopped it, or move the cursor along the window source?! I don't know what the problem is.

2_The other thing is, it won't accept any imported video file unless its .mov all the other video formats would not allow me to import, why is that?

What kind of video card do you have? Avid doesn't really work with ATI cards, for no good reason that I can gather.

As for import, I've certainly imported .avi and .m2t (MPEG-2 transfer streams) into Xpress Pro, though not for some time. Which version are you using?

yes my video card is ATI, and the version is AVID Xpress Pro HD 5.24... but the thing that i have edited in the past with good results.

yea, try and use an Nvidea card. Quadro FX cards would be best. But I know that Avid works in Legacy mode. Which means should work with a bunch of different vid cards....
