Polaroid colour/8mm effect on AVID HELP!

I will be shooting a 7 minute short in about a weeks time and I cant seem to get my hands on any information on how to make DV footage look like old film with polaroid colours etc. Does anyone know how to achieve this old style effect using AVID, magic bullet, aftereffects etc.

Crank some saturation and contrast with a color effect then nest a BCC film look of your choice.
