Which operating system for pc

Ive heard two things about what operating syestem i should run on my pc, some say i need to use XP Pro, or others say i should us Xp Media. Any insight would help.

From what I've heard, XP Pro is the way to go. I'm guessing that XP Media Center will throw in too much other stuff and cause problems.

XP Media is Microsoft's answer to iLife by Mac... basically, it is for the Dad who wants to jazz up his home videos or the fan who wants to create a YouTube alter to the latest teen actor. If you want to run prosumer to professional programs, go with XP pro. The former will monopolize your memory.

Certainly Avid only support XP Pro, but I suspect the more consumer-based editing programs are less picky.

XP Pro is more flexible and useable I would say
