using digital camera to shoot the short film

my name is venkat im the final year student of BFA applied arts
in my profestion, i ve to make something 5 or 6 minits message.
Now my problem is i ve a digital camera 3.2 megapixel in this
camera we can take 3 minits vedio. so tell me how can i get
a good out put with cam. If u 've any soft ware to edit and get gud out put so please give the information.
