Used camera advice

Hi folks,

I am looking for a digital video camera for a guitar building how to video. I have a Canon HV10, but the camera has no mic input so the sound is not as good as it could be with a wireless lav mic.
I would consider selling the hv 10 to get something that has good sd quality with a mic input. Any ideas?

Thanks
Mike

Try getting a high-quality DAT recorder that will transfer to the computer in a common audio file format, then sync it up in post. This way you don't have to bother with finding a new camera and you can control your audio independently of the camera. If you have a local Guitar Center, they will probably carry them.

Just remember to use a clapboard in order to sync up in post. It doesn't need to be digital, and can be as simple as using two pieces of flat wood.

What dont you like about the sound?
Too many flat hard surfaces in the room?
You can kill the reflected sound by getting out your blankets covering all the hard surfaces.
That should sound pretty good.
