upconverting DV to HDV

I'm working on a project that has both DV and HDV footage. I was hoping to upcovert the DV to HDV, but haven't been able to figure out how to do this. And, once it's been upcoverted, does that also put it into 16:9 widescreen and if so, how does that affect the image?

You'd take your DV clips and export via QuickTime Conversion or Compressor to HDV. But there are two problems-

1- DV "uprezed" to HDV or HD will lose a lot of image quality.
2- DV is not anamorphic, and when uprezed, will still not be anamorphic.

It's really a bad idea to uprez video, especially DV. You'll lose image quality for sure.

Red Giant Software makes a software called Instant HD. Try that. It's awesome and it's only like 80 bucks I think.

I actually have Instand HD, and it's nice, but it's not perfect, you'll get good results, but your SD footage will still show a lack of image quality next to your other HD footage.
