In the more advanced editing software, you can perform a "reverse telecine" or "reverse pulldown" or something to that effect to remove the 3:2 pulldown and be cutting true in a 24-frame environment. You probably have to do it to the clips before you cut them so that you don't have a broken cadence.
As for the details, you'd have to ask an editor, not a cinematographer (unless they also are an editor.)
