I am shooting a fantasy style short film, and the scene has a witch in the woods. We are going to have a cast iron dutch oven hanging over a fire. Does anyone know something that can be activated by heat we can use in the dutch oven to create a kind of fog to make it look like the witch is brewing something? I also need it to be cost effective.
It will be a real fire and I don't want to destroy the dutch oven. I know that dry ice and water works, but don't know how it will work with the heat element added. Does anyone have any ideas?
