Seeking African-American Female Lead, 25-35, "Plus-Sized", w/Soulful BELTING Voice

"tucht... a damn-near-true story" is a feature-film (psychological-thriller/dark-comedy) to be submitted to the national/international film-festivals circuit; it is NOT a musical, but the female-lead's singing voice plays a profound role in the storyline.
Auditions/Callbacks will consist of sides from the script, plus your original rendition of Mahalia Jackson's 'Trouble of the World'; initial interviews/auditions will be scheduled beginning SEPTEMBER ('10); shooting (principal photography) begins Spring 2011.
Submissions (e-mail PIC/RES to asaopellc@aol.com) are being accepted ASAP thru DECEMBER ('10); both Non-Union/Union; you may include video links (youtube, etc) of anything you may want us to view; for hardcopy submissions, see addy below
[PHILOMENA] Female Lead - African-American, age 25-35, 'Plus-Sized' (size 18-28), under 5'7", w/Soulful BELTING Singing Voice; he role requires extreme emotional range, and also comedic-flair; Philomena is the kindest most loving/caring person you'll ever meet, BUT don't f--k with her (or worse yet, her friends) 'cause her ex-gangbanger (Bloods) rage may emerge (she can most definitely kick even the most 'rough-neck' man's a--).
LogLine: She saved his life... now she's gotta kill him.
