Script Writing from the beginning

Hi Everyone. I have just joined the Community. I am a very newly retired Deputy Principal. I Taught History and Geography for 40 years.
Now I have a different life and new challenges to face. Lots of time on my hands and while I will need some of this to earn an online income I also hope to do some writing.

So I am exploring my options, not sure what I want to write but am keen to pick up some key ideas on How to get started.

If you were asked for the 3 key steps needed to get a writing project underway what would you say?

Look forward to your responses.

1. set aside a time to write everyday preferably in the morning
2. progress not perfection
3. write about things you know even if it is fictional

1)Know your story like the back of your hand. You're bound to encounter problems while writing anyway and you need to know your story to get across those bridges quickly and effectively.
2)Have a schedule and stick to it. Half a page a day is still progress.
3)Don't hang around for too long. Get stuck into the writing process as soon as you can, otherwise you'll start to dislike your idea.
