renting a camera

I'm going to make a reeeealllly low budget zombie movie. I've made two or three little ones before, well if you could call them movies, with a cheap low res, and I do mean low res digital camera. And now that I've kinda gotten my feet wet I want to do something semi-respectable. I can't afford to buy a good camera but I saw on the net that you can rent a canon xh-a1 for $365 for 6 days, o.k. obviously I'm not going to film a 90 minute epic in 6 days, maybe more like a 30 minute crapfest. But anyway, is this a good idea? Is this a good camera? Can I learn how to use it effectively fairly quickly, say in a day. What about sound, is the mic on the camera enough, if not what do I do there?

yes canon is a good camera

that camera will work for you and you should be able to learn what you need to do in a short time. I would read the manual before you get the camera. Also, i might consider the canon HDSLR as an option.
