Recording playback to tape not memory stick on TRV950

my problem is; I am trying to record my timeline on FCP4 back to my Sony TRV950 and everytime I press the record button it tries to record it to my memory stick and not the tape. Why does it do that, and how can I change it? somebody help!

I suggest reading your manuel you could be hitting the wrong record.. Or you may not have it on VCR mode. Make sure your print to tape settings are right its VERY touchy it took me like 45 min of fooling around with the settings to get it to work its a pain. I suggest creating easy setups so you only have to fool with it once.
