I recently purchased a Pinnacle transfer kit to transfer video from a camcorder onto my computer.

The Pinnacle software includes a nice little editing program, I normally use Premier Elements for my independent films.

The owner's manual said the software was part of theAvid Software Family and I was just wondering if anyone has any experience using it.

Is it worth it to learn this program or should I just continue to use Premier Elemnts?

I took a brief look through the Pinnacle site at their products and... I can't say I've used any Pinnacle products, or Premiere Elements, but from my experience with other consumer editing tools my bet would be on Premiere Elements. I used Premiere Pro before moving to Avid systems and I think most any version of Premiere is going to handle better than a consumer product provided with a transfer kit. The only reason that Pinnacle even gets to call its software part of the Avid family is because Avid owns Pinnacle...
