Monsters Vs. Aliens

Now, I am a mother of an 8 year old. Which means that I am often forced to see movies that I do not want to see in order to provide for her the experience of a movie theater. I have sat through countless dumb cartoon features and kid targeted films in order to get to one decent one. I was surprised when I saw Monsters vs. Aliens though. I was not expecting much. My bar was pretty low. But I was laughing out loud. I enjoyed the 3D quite a lot. My eyes did not ache due to the great new technologies in the 3D field, and the story had a good set of messages without shoving them down your throat. Such as "don't judge a book by it's cover" and "believe in yourself" basics that kid films often go over board in trying to push it's point. The messages here were nice and given in a non-hair-pulling kind of way.
