hello everyone..

Well, I made a short animation film.
it is 720x306 (1:2.35), 24 FPS.

now I want it transfered ot HDcam tape.
my questions are:
1) Do I need to change the aspect ratio to squeezed 16:9?
2) Does HD projectors project the full frame of the HDCAM tape?
I mean, does it strech it like in Film projection?

my question is (I think):
do I only need to blow-up the resolution of my project?
do I need to change the Aspect Ratio? or HD project the
exact frame resolution and aspect ratio?

because if not, I'll need to squeeze it 16:9 (like in wide screen DVD).
do u get me?????

I have no idea what to do about it....

thanks all.

Is there a certain reason why you need to go to HDCAM?

You have a file that is less than a quarter resolution of HDCAM...it would be like mastering a 320x200 web movie to DV...

You might try something like Digital Anarchy's Re-Sizer on the footage

http://www.digitalanarchy.com/resizer/resizer_main.html

...to at least get it within a reasonable fraction, but it won't look very sharp if shown next to anything that is native HD.

If it's a 3d movie...re-rendering to HD resolution would be the best...if it started on film, a new transfer to an HD framesize would be helpful...

If you want to retain the 2.35 aspect ratio, you'll probably be uprezzing it to 16x9 HDCAM (1920 x 1080 in playback; 1440 x 1080 on tape) with a letterbox to retain the 2.35 ratio.

Then when projecting it digitally, you'd just zoom the image on the projector to put the letterboxing outside the screen masking (black borders/curtains) if you want to fill a 2.35 movie theater screen.
