fight scene question

I would first look and see if there is a film "Comission" or department in the city/region you want to shoot in. If there is one, they should have a way for you to get everything you need. If not, talk to your local police department and see what they have to say. You're probably going to want to have as much info about the scene and what is taking place and who is going to be acting, crewing, etc as possible.

think it'll also depend on how "real" it may look like to others. If you're just shooting handheld or way up close and in a secluded area and stopping every couple of seconds for a new angle, it may be fine to not get permission...but if it's a public area with lots of people, you're using fake guns and knives, and shooting from very far away with a zoom, you may need more assistance/permission..!! mc

Just do it .........as soon as people see the film camera theyll twig to whats going on, and usually theyll stop and cheer you all on etc......although you quite often run into small minded clowns who will raise some sort of ruckus and try to throw a wet towel over your fun. Ive found quiet parks can be a good place to film fight scenes.
