Favorite Video Editor?

What is everyone's favorite (free) lightweight video editor? My niece and nephews want to learn to edit some of the videos we make, they are going to start with game videos. But their PCs aren't that powerful. I personally use Davinci Resolve and I know it is killer on the system, so we didn't even try that. I downloaded openshot but it seemed too limited, like I couldn't even dim the sound.

Hey, @ALH !
From my knowledge, Da Vinci Resolve is free! :D Looking forward to see the videos edited by your niece.

Davinci Resolve is great. If you need to learn it I'm currently taking a course in it on udemy. It has been very helpful, I was editing things really the hard and long way. It's a flood of info and that software is a beast, but just learning some basics has already paid off in time. I can share the link to the udemy class if you want, it was really cheap.

Hi, I am new to this thread. Exploring the information about video editors.
Hi! Have you used any video editor before?

Video editing can be a meticulous dance, but merging clips? That shouldn’t be a full-on waltz! The Online Video Cutter merge videos tool makes it more like a quick two-step. With support for multiple formats and a drag-and-drop interface, this browser-based gem feels like the Swiss Army knife of quick edits. Whether you’re on your laptop or your phone, it’s there for you, no downloads needed. And the best part? It’s free. Seriously, who said quality tools always come at a price? For those last-minute edits when the deadline looms, this is your lifesaver. Check it out at https://online-video-cutter.com/merge-videos and see how it transforms the way you merge videos. Even for someone as old-school as me, this tool feels like the future of quick edits.

When looking for a free, lightweight video editor for less powerful PCs, there are a few great options to consider that strike a balance between usability and features for beginners:

  1. Shotcut: A free, open-source video editor that works well on low-spec systems. It has features like audio editing, filters, and basic transitions, making it perfect for beginners.
  2. HitFilm Express: While a bit more resource-heavy than Shotcut, it's still lighter than DaVinci Resolve. It's feature-rich and great for those wanting to get into more advanced editing over time.
  3. VSDC Free Video Editor: A fantastic lightweight option with tools for video and audio editing. It supports a variety of formats and is well-optimized for low-end PCs.
  4. Kdenlive: A powerful yet lightweight editor with a customizable interface. It's beginner-friendly but also offers advanced features for more experienced editors.
You’re right about OpenShot feeling limited it’s good for quick edits but lacks flexibility for detailed work like audio adjustments. Any of the above options should work well for your niece and nephews' gaming videos.

Also, if you’re into creative projects like video editing, you might enjoy checking out Lightroom Mod APK for enhancing photos with professional-level tools for free. It’s a great resource for anyone looking to level up their visual content!
