Export to tape issue

Hello, I have tried to export to tape (mini DV on NTSC camera) from Premiere Pro 1.5 but while the screen on the computer monitor says "Successful" and on the LCD screen in VTR mode the red dot appers (record status), when I play back the camera I don't see any image on the LCD (nor do I see it while apparently recording).

Suggestions? thanks
