Whenever I try to open Avid it comes up with this message: Error: Access violation at Ox24574588 (tried to write OxOOOOOOOO), program terminated.
So I have no idea what this means, but I think that I have figure out part of the problem. The entire project is saved to an external drive, not backed up on the drive, but this is actually where the actual clips, etc are saved to. Whenever I turn the drive off, Avid opens fine, but obviously all of the files are Offline. So it seems that the problem has to do with the external drive. I thought that maybe the drive had crashed, so I moved all of the clips to another drive and it does the same thing, so it must be Avid's interaction with the drive. Is there any reason to not have to project on an external drive? If that's not the problem, then what is? Do I need to reinstall Avid?
