Do you think brexit will effect our Film funding?

Hello, all

I am a level 3 media studies student at Milton Keynes College.

I am doing some research on how our film industry is going to be effected due to Brexit.

I would like to know all of your views.

For a British independent film to qualify for funding, they have to certified as British first and this can be carried out in two different ways. One of them requires taking a test known as the cultural test of film. Alternatively, as a co-production under a co-production agreement or The European Convention of Cinematographic Co-production. As this procedure is under European convention, it wouldn't be available for British filmmakers now that we have left the EU. Brexit not only affects the funding and the companies that they can be funded by (IndieGoGo, National lottery, Kickstarter) but also wether they are certified as British or not.

It might for awhile. There is a lot of politics going on in the film industry. More so here in the USA. We will see how it all pans out.
