can you remove wires in apples shake?

Yes, very well, too. Motion will also do it now. That's what they're made for!

do you need motion 3? if so, is there a tutorial that I can see on how to do it?

Motion will be limited, but you can do it with the right footage. Shake really is the way to go, but it's a much steeper learning curve, too. There is an Apple Pro Training Series book called simply "Motion". There are other video tutorials on line in various places. Ripple Training has a killer DVD called "Fast Forward Motion" that covers the paint function.
