I was watching this music video, and was wondering how they might have achieved that really fast semi-circle around the man at the desk? Also, for the opening (and various other similar parts), do you think the cinematographer used multiple cameras? I'd also be interested in any other thoughts you have. It's really beautiful I think.

Looks like they sped-up a Steadicam move in post.

Some of the repeat shots were just different takes in different positions using the same camera, not multiple cameras -- for example, when he comes out of the hotel door multiple times, each shot uses a wide-angle lens, which means that the tighter shots had a camera that was physically closer than the looser shots, so it couldn't have been multiple cameras because the camera farther back would have seen the camera closer in.

yeah, that makes sense. What sense did you get in terms of format? I'm hopelessly incapable of telling the difference between HD, and film. Could you maybe explain what you look for, or what helps you determine these subtle differences in look just in general? Thanks.

The shallow focus suggests 35mm but it's hard to tell on a small window.
