Are card cover stocks necessary?

If a script contest mentions the title page, but makes no mention of card covers, should I still include a card cover?

Are card covers now the norm, so that not including one is seen as unprofessional?

I realize this is probably a trivial question.

Use cardstock, if you have it.

Use cardstock, if you have it.

If you were only giving your script to friends or colleagues, I'd say you can get by with just a title page. But if you want to look professional when submitting to a contest, production company, agent, manager, or studio, then put cover stock on your screenplays. Besides, scripts are much more durable when they have cover stock on them.
