Advice on Shooting 16mm for the First Time

I've shot a lot on video and i have shot some on super 8, but i have always wanted to shoot 16mm. I don't really know where to start. I have a bolex h16 reflex. I was wondering if you had any advice. Should i have a project in mind or just start shooting random stuff and get a feel of how it works?

Nothing wrong with shooting test rolls of 16mm to check out the camera, lenses, stock, different lighting situations, etc. Just remember that labs have a minimal processing amount charge, so don't send such a small amount that you are paying more than you should.
