800ws 800w Continuous Studio light

Hi everyone,

Recently purchased 800ws 800w Continuous Studio light. When I placed the bulb into it and plugged it in, there was initially some smoke coming from it. I unplugged it immediately, and retried a few minutes later, resulting in a lot less smoke. I am very very new to lighting, but I was wondering when you use a light like this for the first time, would any smoke be normal or usual? Or should I be very scared?

I have an older 750W light and it got a LITTTLE smoke when I first got it and started using it, I dont know if you are using an older light but I think they smoke just a little bit when they havent been used in a long time. but it should go away fairly quickly the more this light is used if it doesn't than this light should be checked by a pro.
