    Sound Effects Library

Well, at the academic superstore is all 10 Sony Effect cds for a total of 400, while each set of 5 retails for 300. So, good deal there, and a great (from what I've heard) effects library.

Hey. Anyone know of great SFX libraries that don't cost $585 +? Thanks.

    Scheduling software

Ok, so I'm at Ithaca College. I'm producing three student productions this semester, all to be shot almost simultaneously. EP Scheduling seems to be great for ONE project, but has no features for more than one. I'm guessing I'd need the kind of software that is used for TV studios who are...

    Water....

Looks like we don't need the effect after all. It turned out nice without. What do you all think? http://www.box.net/shared/hoi0oknqcd

Well, here's a scene from the rough cut. I'm quite excited about how the blackout worked. Of course, due to budget, some shots had to be adapted. Of course, this scene doesn't apply to the above conversation. Turns out, I only bought 100 sq. ft. of ND6, and it worked nicely. Strategic placement...

Mirror. . . interesting. I like the thought. . . a lot. I'll try it in my bathtub!

    Water....

I have a shot where we need a POV shot FROM a rose that has been dropped into the water. . . as in, seeing from the rose's perspective. I'd like to find a way to make it appear as if water is splashing around the rose as it looks up at the character who dropped it. I don't have an underwater...

FILM LIKE video footage from Panasonic HVX200 (P2)

lighting and camera movement has always been (to me) the key to making video look like film. That snow is quite beautiful. And the scene beneath. . . but for the strange artifacts on the TV screen, it's splendidly moody.

    Am I dreaming?

Weirdest thing. . . I knew I wanted to make films the moment I saw (as a sophomore in HS) behind the scenes of LOTR: Fellowship extended. . . odd. I'm presently a sophomore in college studying film. I say sophomore is a splendidly ripe age!

    GS500. . . again

Ok, so I just posted talking about lighting a big interior w/ lots of windows. Now comes the technical questions. We are shooting w/ the Panasonic GS500. I've decided I do like the ProCinema mode, so I'm going to use it. And we're going to have a polarizing filter on the front of the lens. So...

    Lighting, Gels, Interiors

Well, after looking at the budget, cutting some extraneous 'convenience' equipment, I've secured enough to buy 400 square feet of Rosco's ND9 gel from Hollywood Rentals. If anyone lives near Orlando, they have very competitive prices. It's going to be pretty wild, but it'll work. I'll post the...

    INT. DINING ROOM - NIGHT

... Most of my film is at night time, interior. Also, the building has a bunch of windows. How do you get a convincing nighttime look during the day with the windows there? It's baffling me.

    Pregnancy

I think I'm going to go with chicken wire. Because, yes, of the win win nature of it.

Huh. . . chicken wire! So, craft a frame for the belly, and then a slip, then maternity clothes?

    Another Cretique?

Goodness, it is wonderful and amazing that people actually DO take the time to cretique screenplays for random strangers. . . wonder if they'll do it for a 30+ page screenplay? It is written by me and a friend. The film is called Glass. Two things: 1) How are the characters and story in...
