What are you looking at when you see the colors as "different". Do the colors look different from the computer monitor to an outboard video monitor? Pass along some details on your editing setup and exactly where you are seeing the difference please.

Is the HD 1920 or 1280? If the whole thing could be cut as 1280x720 (progressive) that might be a good compromise, but if your source footage is all interlace, I would test whatever editing system you have to see if the conversion is acceptable.

I would just add that in those moments when you are very frustrated and tempted to read the line the way you want it read, the actor's focus (particularly inexperienced ones) will change to parroting the way the lines were read instead of "living" them. Sometimes getting the line read the way...
