Hi
Ive bought DVD camcorder.
when i want to put my recordings on my computer i can just watch it and i cant edit them
Actually i use Adobe premiere pro.
those recordings on DVD are coded or something...and i guess i have to encode them..so i need help
Help me, please!
I really need those recordings and i want to edit them.
By the way my camera is Sony if it helps somehow.

Ok, so here's the problem...DVDs are encoded into special files (.VOB) that almost every non-linear editing system will not recognize. They do this to avoid people copying DVD movies. In effect, you can't copy the digital file to your computer and edit that.

My girlfriend got one of those Sony DVD camcorders as a gift, so I know that they come bundled with special Sony software that will allow you to edit the video. Unfortunately, you won't be able to use Premiere to do it.

There is a workaround, though it's not the ideal way to do it. You'll actually have to use the analog outputs of the camera and play the footage through the camera. Your camera likely came with a 1/8"-to-RCA cable that you'll hook up to your computer's video/audio input cards, and then capture the video that way. This is probably the simplest workaround.

I know it's too late for you, but for everyone else out there, avoid DVD Camcorders at all costs. They are the devil!

as far i understand i have to record with my computer or something
and i dont get it about those edit program...so there is an edit program wich i got when i bought the camera...but i guess its not very good

is there any other way maybe a program to encode those recording
