Hey David,
Nice little movie! I can see you're a fan of of Russell Mulcahy. It said "To Be Continued..." at the end, does this mean there is more?
Anyways, the strengths in this movie are plentiful, so I'll first talk about what could have been better.
Sound and lighting were the major weak points in this movie. I couldn't hear half the dialogue even with my volume turned up full blast and the lighting was mediocre - my guess is your budget was tight enough as is and you used what you had. That said, congrats.
The camera work was really nice. Did you use a steadycam or lots of dolly/tracking shots? I always appreciate nice fluid shots over shaky handheld so thanks for that! However, a mixture of reaction/close-up shots would been nice too.
The plot/storyline was simplistic but you had me watching it all the way through to the end so I give you an "A" for that. I hate to say it but, I think sometimes the best short movies I see ARE clich? and they lack sophistication in storytelling - best to save that for the bigger budget movies anyway!
Overall, nice job! Please answer my questions about the camera stuff. I'm curious what sort of equipment you used - tripods, etc. Also, you shot digital...what camera did you use? Got any other movies you've done?
