What are my duties as Art Director?

So recently I’ve managed to get a job as an Art Director for an indie studio adaptation of a classic Sci fi novel. What exactly will I be expected to do as Art Director for the film? It mostly takes place in a fantasy Sci fi world.

I think but could be wrong that it depends on the size of your production crew and budgets but the Art Director literally directs the artists to get the look the Director envisions.
