Virtual Production: Antilatency camera tracking (demo inside)

Hey everyone, who's interested in Virtual Production! Setting up a VP studio can be pretty challenging and costly, especially when it comes to a tracking system. But at least are different options to choose from. We made a quick demo that shows how to use Antilatency tracking with Unity. You can track cameras, objects and even body parts.

In this demo we have used a tracking area attached to the truss system, one tracker for the camera, and two trackers for each leg. All tracking data was transmitted to Unity via proprietary radio protocol, and was used for real-time rendering. No post-processing or cleanup whatsoever — only real-time data.

What do you think? Have you tried Virtual Production yet? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!

Honestly, this is very cool!

I watched a few youtube videos about this technology. I never had the chance to see it in real life. Do you also have a video where you are testing this? I mean not a promotional video, more like a "behind the scenes" one :D

What exactly is that product? Only that pen? Or it has multiple accessories and a software that is required to work with? I never used this before :)

I am a student and when I see the wonders of modern technology, I get scared because I always have the feeling that I don't have a budget to afford them. What is the price range of these products?

You can check out one of our customers for instance, Virtual Star Studios
they often post BTS of what they're doing, and Richard Frantzen (he's running the studio) is making Virtual Production tutorials as well, so that might give you more insight into the tech side of things and VP in general :)

The product is the positional tracking system :) You basically need a tracker to know the position of the camera (crucial for Virtual Production), and you also have a tracking area that can be set up on the ceiling, on the floor, or on trusses. And we do have an SDK for Unreal Engine, Unity and Aximmetry (this demo was for Unity).

Converting a regular Video Production studio into a Virtual Production one does mean you'll have to spend money for extra equipment, but indie studios have been doing it a lot lately. As for Antilatency tracking (provided you're only tracking one camera), you'll spend about $2K.

$2k is doable with a bit of struggle. Thank you for your answer!
