Trying to blend two stories into one...

I'm trying to blend two stories into one about my two characters but I dunno if it would confuse the reader if each story is set two years apart. But they meet up with eachother in there parts of the story. would it work?

It could be done. Though it would probably have to be very well done.

I've been working on the idea since Junior year first writing an outline in narrative forum but then I thought it would be boring just telling the first one's story so why not try both of them? It is something I am doing basing the format from a how to book.

Check out movies that tell two stories at once, see how they do it, don't really know any off the top of my head, but I'm sure there's someone out there that does.
