super 16mm on anamorphic? how?

Standard anamorphic cine lenses have a 2X squeeze, thus the 2.40 35mm projection format actually has a camera / projection gate roughly 1.20 : 1, and the lens has a 2X horizontal squeeze.

Therefore even with standard 16mm, which is 1.37 : 1, you'll have a 2.74 : 1 aspect ratio when unsqueezed after using standard anamorphic lenses.

With the 1.68 : 1 Super-16 full aperture, the unsqueezed anamorphic image would be 3.36 : 1.

But there's nothing stopping you from using PL-mount anamorphic lenses on a Super-16 camera with a PL-mount. You'll just find a shortage of wide-angle lenses since the focal length range is designed for 35mm shooting, so often a 35mm focal length is the widest-angle anamorphic lens one might rent, although there are some wider ones.
