sony dsr-pd170 question

I recently came into possession of two sony dsr-pd170s and anamorphic converters. However, I was wondering if I should attempt to use these in producing a fantasy short I would like to transfer to film, or if I should sell them and buy a single canon xl2? Any thoughts?

If you're certain that you going to transfer it to film then you'll probably be better off with an XL2. If not, then you might as well stick with the PD170... used prices seem to be dropping fast (at least here in the UK) since the release of the FX1 and Z1.
