Self distribution TVOD platform - 100 % profit to film makers

Over the past year I’ve been developing a self-distribution TVOD platform together with my colleague, as we’ve been frustrated with filmmakers often losing a significant portion of the profits from their films. This platform aims to change that by giving full control and profits back to the creators.

I'm excited to share it with you all and would love to get your feedback and gauge your interest. Here’s what sets our platform apart:

• 100% profit to filmmakers: All the profits from rentals goes directly to you, the filmmaker. No hidden fees.
• Comment and rating Functions: Viewers can leave comments and ratings on each movie, fostering a community around your work.
• Secure paywall: We support multiple secure payment options, including Stripe, Google Pay, Apple Pay, direct card payment and several others.
• No login or account creation required: Viewers can rent movies without creating an account, reducing barriers to entry.
• Analytics page for film owners: Access analytics about your films.
• Instant self-service movie upload: Creators can upload movies within minutes through a self-service form.
• No unique claim: as a filmmaker you can post your film on the platform and everywhere else. Take it down whenever you want.

As a creator you pay a small monthly fee. Cancel anytime. We are planning on giving away the first month for free so anyone can try it out and decide for themselves if it’s worth it.

• What features are most important to you when distributing your films?
• Are there any additional features you’d like to see?

Hello Aggelicious, congratulations on your TVOD project and the progress you have brought it thus far. I appreciate your posting its announcement and asking for feedback. I would be interested in using a platform like this and I have a few questions:
--- Does your platform have a name?
--- Do you have a temporary website for the TVOD platform that we can check out? That will also tell us where your headquarters are?
--- Is your platform only for student films, short films or will non-student full-length feature films and documentaries be admitted?
--- Are you planning to become a member of TrustPilot and other review websites as evidence of your transparency and operating procedures?
--- What safeguards will you put in place to not sell the creator's information or the viewer's information?
--- Do you have your Terms of Service together that we can review?
--- How do you (the platform) make its money (revenues)? Just by subscriptions, or what?
--- Will any advertising be promoted on the platform? If so, how?
--- What types of films will and will not be permitted on the platform? For example, will pornography be permitted? Is this a concern to you? Will the procedure of handling these issues be voiced in your Terms of Service?
--- What amount of "small monthly fee" to the creator are you thinking of charging? Are there different levels of payment plans available to the creator with upgraded benefits as the levels of payments increase?
--- What are your marketing plans for promoting the platform to the world?
I like the benefits to creators that you mention in your post, and analytics are especially important to me. In addition to the benefits you've already mentioned, I'd like to see:
--- The number of viewers that landed on the film's page.
--- The total number of rentals for each film and total amount of rental fees.
--- The IP number and geographical location of viewers that landed on the films page and that rented the film.
--- How often will profits be paid to filmmakers? How will the procedure be setup?
Re: Comments and Feedback Section
--- Only verified paid viewers are eligible to post comments and feedback, no reviews left by fake viewers who do not pay rental fee.
--- Ability of creators to delete reviews that in the creator's discretion are not relevant or that infringe upon "netiquette" (Internet etiquette), respecting others online.
--- Ability for creators to answer any review.
--- Ability for creators to gift a freebie to any viewer. For example, for purposes to promote the film.
