Hey people, whats up. My names is James. I film for a rollerblading video magazine. I have a Gl2 with a century optics .3. Im selling it. Im looking into buying an HD. I know a good bit about filming and such but not a ton about cameras. Im looking at buying an sony fx1, fx7, a canon xh a1, or a panasonic dvx100b. Im wondering if the 24p on the panasonic is good? I've never used a camera that had 24p on it so im wondering if it is worth buying. I would also like to know if the fx7 or fx1 is better. I've filmed with the fx1 and it looks fantastic, but has the fx7 improved to be better than the fx1? I have enough money to buy the sony fx1 or panasonic dvx100b, considering that I have to buy a century .3 fisheye. But if the xh a1 is worth the money, then I can save more. If anybody could help me out it would be very appreciated. Thanks. James. here is a link to the magazine i helped film, www.radiusmediaproductions.com

Hey, I really would like to know if the 24p looks good enough to keep up with the HD that doesn't have 24p. It would save me a buck or 2 and I would also like to know if the fx7 or fx1 is better. if somebody could please help me out that would be fantastic, thanks.

Hi,

I haven't used either of those cameras, but I'll just point out that the DVX-100 series isn't a high-def camera. The high definition you may be thinking of is the HVX-200, but it's almost twice the cost.

the DVX100 isnt high def but it is still good quality.

The HVX is double the price but then you have to cnsider the P2 cards which are over £1000 each.

I work on DVX 100 and my mate works on HVX and if we both use Mini DV tapes for a live music event the quality is the same.

Also the only use for shooting high def is if it will be seen on high def T.V.
