I just recently shot a film on super-16 500t (rated 400). I haven't gotten the footage back and I'm just a little nervous about my highlights. I know stock has a good latitude.

I had some shots where we threw in some harsh sunlight on the side of the actors face. Now I don't remember the exact stop, but most of the face I exposed regularly and the area that was hot was around 2 1/2 stops over my regular reading.

I'm just wondering if that will look like too much or will get me in the area of what I want, which is the effect of some hot sunlight peering through a window on a bit of the face.

Thanks

Should be fine unless it is transferred too hot or something, but there is definitely detail on the negative three-stops over. You may find the opposite problem, the transfer may be too dark because the colorist decided to make the hot areas closer to normal-looking.
