Obtaining EDL files from other sources???

Hello all,

Recently my editor's ext. drive crashed and I lost the FCP file and all the capture scratch which my film was edited with (The yearly reformat of the G5's at school happened simultaneously with his drive crashing, so there is nothing in terms of backup) I know I was ridiculously stupid for not backing up the FCP file but I do have an exported version of locked picture as an .mov file. I'm not much in terms of an editor myself so I was just wondering if theres ANY way of extracting EDLs from the mov file or should I just re-digitize and re-edit my film? (I need the EDL's because I'll probably need to online to DigiBeta sometime in the near future)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Well I can tell you that no way in hell can you re generate your sequence from a mov file, because a mov files doesnt hold that type of information.

What I can tell you, what you will most probably end up doing, is that you'll re digitize your film, and re-edit...

Unfortunetly... if you have a build of your edit, you just have to import all the missing files... then woooo your saved, but if you dont have a build of your edit.. your sequence then your screwed....
